Static Control Component inc has developed a system to help companies packaging surface mount electronics devices meet the requirements of the new joint IPC/JEDEC Standard J-STD-033. This document standardises methods for packing, shipping and handling moisture sensitive surface mount component devices to ensure that they arrive at customers moisture-free, static safe and ready to use. Accordingly, the requirement for moisture barrier bags, bag labelling, humidity indicator cards and desiccant loading has been established.
